A new building for KiTZ
In order to unite research and clinical activities under one roof, Heidelberg University Hospital (UKHD) and the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) are planning a new building for the KiTZ in Neuenheimer Feld between the Children's Hospital and the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT).
On an area of around 6,400 square meters, more than 200 physicians, scientists and experts from all medical fields - from basic research to clinical application - will work on developing tailored approaches for better diagnosis and treatment of children with cancer.
Around 20 beds for children and adolescents with cancer and severe blood disorders are planned in the new KiTZ building. In addition, the day clinic and outpatient clinics will be located there.
